Mobilising Garments for Oedema

MOBIDERM mobilising garments are designed to be used in the maintenance phase of lymphedema swelling. They are suitable for both adults and children with the specified conditions.
These made-to-measure garments are intended for patients with:
- Mild to moderate lymphoedema.
- Regular or Irregular limb shape.
- Client’s with shape distortion and folds as MOBIDERM will mould into the limb.
- Stable lymphoedema volume who cannot use standard-sized off the shelf sleeves or prefer a lower limb garment without the adjustable features of the Autofit Garment.
- Great for babies or young children (best to use large blocks)
- Also great for inactive, aged or palliative care as it is comfortable and will decrease fibrosis
They offer enhanced comfort for use during nighttime or while at rest.
Mechanism of Action
MOBIDERM garments work by:
- Applying Compression: This pressure promotes lymph circulation and helps maintain or reduce swelling.
- Facilitating Subcutaneous Drainage: The foam blocks create a pressure differential between the contact area and the surrounding skin, forming multi-directional circulation channels that encourage lymph flow from compressed areas to less pressured areas, thus enhancing lymph drainage and circulation.
These garments are designed for daytime, rest periods, and nighttime use, specifically for managing Oedema in the upper or lower limbs.
Product Range
MOBIDERM garments are available in several models for the treatment of oedema:
- Arm sleeve
- Arm sleeve with mitten (without thumb)
- Arm sleeve with mitten (with thumb)
- Thigh-high Stocking
- Below-knee (sock)
Composition

Internal Surface: Features MOBIDERM technology with foam blocks (polyurethane for large blocks and/or polyethylene for small blocks) sandwiched between two sheets of non-woven material (polyester, acrylic adhesive mass).

External Surface: Made of a soft, elastic beige material (polyamide, elastane).
Depending on the model and treatment area, the garments use either one size of foam block (5 x 5 mm or 15 x 15 mm) or both sizes.
Measuring for Garments
Keep in mind according to the ILF:

Tape should be held firmly on the skin

But pressure should be adapted to the client’s tolerance.
